Prop Design & Project Building - Part 1

This tutorial is an insight into how I approach prop design, including every step from the initial idea to the finished sheets of design sketches. I explore 2 different assets, creating 16 different designs in total. Using the first inspiration as a starting point but then fleshing it out into a coherent design brief to respond to and formulating a structure to work within.

In this 8-part tutorial I go through my design process from start to finish and break down my thought process at each stage. I talk about my approach to design, combining references to create unique shapes and how I apply design fundamentals as I work. I also cover how I create an overarching structure for the project and the importance of planning, and how I use the first designs to expand out into a whole portfolio project.
